Within This Issue

This is a general issue – a chance to air and share ideas and points of view on many different topics and from many different perspectives: two articles provide a link with the last issue on the arts; another reminds us of the value and enjoyment that may be got from volunteering; an account of some of the issues which may arise when a young person leaves school and moves into adult services; a personal view of the nature and value of Intensive Interaction. A discernible underlying theme in the following articles is understanding the processes involved in developing thought and learning: Penny Lacey provides a clear and informative introduction to this topic. Other articles relate to learning too: using switch-technology to facilitate the development of contingency-awareness; personalised learning plans; Mathematics for pupils with PMLD; and a review of the newly published Primary Curriculum Review. There is also up to date information on the Inclusive Libraries Project.
