Within This Issue

This issue is about the subject of promoting independence and drew a wide range of contributions. There are discussions of the importance of independence and promoting autonomy; promoting independence through Further Education; and self-advocacy through drama. There are also pieces on combining music and drama to create an inclusive theatrical performance, the input of a New Zealand special education service to assessment for placements, and notes from two speakers at the PMLD conference at the University of Birmingham on the transition years to adulthood and determiners of the quality of life for pupils in their school years.
